Understanding IOP

More Than Therapy. Less Than a Hospital. Exactly What Some People Need.

Intensive Outpatient is a structured level of care that sits between weekly therapy and inpatient hospitalization. If you've been in therapy and feel like it's not holding — or if life events have pushed you to a place where you need more support — IOP might be the right level of care.

WHO IT'S FOR
The Right Level of Support
People stepping down from inpatient. People whose anxiety or depression is affecting work and relationships. People who've tried weekly therapy and need more structure to make progress. If that's you, this is worth a conversation.

WHAT SESSIONS LOOK LIKE
Group + Individual Therapy
IOP combines process group therapy with individual sessions. Group sessions offer connection, accountability, and shared insight. Individual sessions go deeper — private, focused, and tied directly to your treatment plan goals.
~9 hours of care per week
HOW LONG
6–12 Weeks, With a Plan
IOP isn't indefinite. It's intensive by design, with a clear discharge plan that transitions you to the next appropriate level of care — whether that's continued IOP, individual therapy, or independent living.

What We Treat

IOP Addresses the Full Range of Mental Health Challenges.

These are the most common conditions treated in our IOP program — often in combination. If you're struggling, that alone is reason enough to reach out.

Anxiety Disorders
Generalized anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety, and OCD when symptoms are significantly affecting daily function.
Depression
Major depressive disorder and persistent depressive disorder requiring more structure than weekly therapy provides.
Trauma & PTSD
Complex trauma and PTSD in an intensive, structured setting with trauma-informed group and individual care.
Bipolar Disorder
Mood stabilization, psychoeducation, and skills building — often alongside medication management for optimal outcomes.
Substance Use
Co-occurring substance use disorders treated alongside mental health conditions — integrated care from day one.
Co-occurring Disorders
Dual diagnosis care for clients managing both mental health and substance use simultaneously — no siloed treatment.

What Sets Us Apart

Three Things That Make Trademark IOP Different.

Not all IOP programs are built the same. Here's what we do differently — and why it matters for your recovery.

01
You Keep Your Clinician
Your individual therapist in IOP is the same person managing your treatment plan — not a rotating staff member. Continuity of care isn't a talking point here. It's how we actually operate.
02
Full Continuum Under One Roof
Whether your needs change — stepping up to PHP or stepping down to individual therapy — you don't get handed off to a stranger. Trademark Therapy Services offers every level of outpatient care, and we navigate transitions with you.
03
Schedules Built Around Real Life
Morning, afternoon, and evening options are available. IOP is intensive by design — but it shouldn't cost you your job or family time. We work with your availability to make attendance sustainable.

Coverage & Cost

IOP Is Covered by Most Insurance Plans.

Intensive outpatient programs are recognized as medically necessary by most major insurance carriers. Mental health parity laws require insurance to cover IOP at the same level as comparable medical treatment. We accept Medicaid, Medicare, and most commercial plans. Our team handles prior authorization and benefits verification before your first session.
