Common Questions
Yes. Our clinicians who work with first responders have specialized training in responder culture, occupational trauma, and the barriers to help-seeking in these professions. You won't have to explain the job.
No. Therapy is completely confidential. We do not share information with employers, departments, or supervisors. Exceptions apply only in cases of imminent danger to self or others — the same standard as any client.
Yes. Most insurance plans cover mental health therapy. Many first responders have excellent employer-provided plans. We also accept EAP (Employee Assistance Program) benefits, which may provide free sessions.
Critical incident stress occurs after exposure to traumatic events on the job — mass casualty events, line-of-duty deaths, violence, or traumatic death. Treatment includes EMDR, CPT, and structured trauma processing. Early treatment produces better outcomes.
Yes. We offer flexible scheduling including evenings and weekends for first responders on rotating shifts. Telehealth allows even more scheduling flexibility.
